Common Egret

Common Egret is widely distributed egret. It is also called as great egret or large egret or great white heron. It is found in tropical and warmer temperate regions of the world, in North America, Europe, South America, Asia, Australasia.

It is a partially migratory bird and moves from northern hemisphere to south away during winters. The birds breed in colonies in trees close to large lakes with reed beds, or other wetlands.  They feed mainly on fish, frogs, small mammals,  and occasionally on small reptiles and insects.
