I stay in JP Nagar 7th phase and very near to the Puttenahalli Lake. My birding locations were the Valley School, near Bannerghatta and so on. Over this weekend I happened to visit Puttenahalli Lake and look what I captured on my camera.

The once upon a time defunct & dry lake is now having flora & fauna and quite a few birds. There are a few people staying in Brigade Millennium and L&T South City who got together and formed a Lake Restoration Project. All their hard work seems to have paid off. By the end of this monsoon, I am sure this lake is going to be more full and will likely to attract more birds.


For birding enthusiasts, this very likely will become your next destination for bird photography the way things are going. Some of the birds spotted include Pied Kingfishers, Spot Billed Duck, Ashy Prinia, Purple rumped Sun Bird, Brahminy Kites, Eurasian Coot, Common Egret, and many more. Here are some of my pictures:
