The Boil Story
As a child Yoganandaji spent most of his time meditating upon God. As a result of this, his strong prayers always came true.
One day, he and his second elder sister, Uma were sitting in the garden of their house in Gorakhpur. She had a boil on her leg which was very painful. Mukunda, as Yoganandaji was called when he was small, got her ointment to apply on her boil. After she applied the ointment, he too applied the ointment on his hand even though there was no boil. Seeing this Uma asked him why he was doing so. He told her that he foresaw that a boil was going to erupt at the very place of his hand the next day. Uma ridiculed this and called Mukunda a liar. Mukunda got enraged and told Uma that he was not a liar and that her boil will double in size by the next morning.
As predicted by Mukunda, Uma's boil grew double in size the next moring. She cried in pain and complained to their mother of Mukunda's curse the previous day. Their mother reprimanded Mukunda for using his spiritual powers to cause pain to his sister and warned him against doing such a thing in future. Mukunda felt guilty and repented his act. This was the first and last time Mukunda used his powers to hurt someone.
